2010 Student Conference

Hosted by The David Mathews Center for Civic Life’s Community-Based Research Internship Program, New College, University of Alabama, with steering committee members from Everyday Democracy, The Kettering Foundation, and The Democracy Imperative.
The conference goal is to provide a forum for students learning about how to embed democratic practices in their everyday work and lives. These practices include public dialogue, deliberation, problem solving and action
Students, faculty members, program administrators, practitioners, and community members are encouraged to attend!

The conference begins Wednesday, March 3, at 5 pm, and concludes on Saturday, March 6, at noon. ALL MEALS ARE COVERED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE!

Any practitioner or faculty member who brings 4 students will have their registration fee waived!

LOCATION
The conference will be held at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. The conference rate is $129 per night plus taxes and fees. This rate is also being made available to conference attendees who wish to extend their stay though the night of March 6th. The Grand Hotel rate of $129 per night is only available if you reserve rooms before February 15.
Guests can book rooms 2 ways:

TRANSPORTATION
Free shuttles to and from the Mobile Regional Airport or the Pensicola Regional Airport will be provided at designated times throughout the days of March 3rd and 6th. Shuttle rides not at designated times can be arranged with the Grand Hotel for a reduced rate of $40 per person each way.
