Join us for “Community as Classroom: Equipping Youth for Civic Leadership” at the American Village in Montevallo on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 10AM – 3:30PM. Sponsored by the David Mathews Center for Civic Life and the City of Montevallo, the interactive, hands-on workshop will provide you with tools, resources, and ideas for engaging youth voice in your community. The workshop will feature an informative panel and interactive learning sessions aimed at equipping YOU to engage youth in YOUR community.

“The Community as Civic Classroom: Creating Infrastructure for Youth Engagement” has been approved for two (2) Basic hours in the Certified Municipal Official Program of the Alabama League of Municipalities. Any municipal employee may register, but only elected officials will be awarded credit hours in the CMO Program.
* Registered attendees are also invited to a special coffee hour and community showcase presentation by Montevallo’s young civic leaders immediately following the workshop.
