Anna Llyod

Anna Lloyd is a junior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham majoring in psychology. Llyod is researching the use of deliberation as a strategy for addressing public health issues.

Brittney Jones

Brittney Jones is a junior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham majoring in neuroscience with a minor in chemistry. Jones will be exploring the possibilities for deliberation in public health issues.

Alonso Heudebert

Alonso Heudebert is a graduate student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham currently working on his Master's in Public Health, with a concentration in international epidemiology. As an intern, he is researching the capacity for deliberation in the area of public health.

Linn Groft

Linn Groft is a junior at the University of Alabama majoring in sustainable international economic development through New College. As an intern, she will be working with the College of Community Health Sciences, specifically collaborating with the Rural Medical Scholars. Through this, Groft is researching the potential for using deliberative practices in public health strategies.

Cristin Foster

Cristin Foster is a senior at the University of Montevallo majoring in history. Through her internship, she is working closely with public middle and high schools to develop a curriculum for teaching democratic practices. Additionally, Foster is researching how American Village experiences can be incorporated into such a curriculum.

John DuBois

John Dubois is a sophomore at the University of Alabama majoring in political science and economics. As an intern, DuBois is working with fellow intern Will Thomas to support the Southern Growth Policies Board in hosting forums around the state based on the SGPB issue map.

Lauree Blair

Lauree Blair is a sophomore at Miles College majoring in social work. Blair is working closely with Peggy Sparks, who coordinates the annual Teachers' Institute. She is involved in a yearlong effort to promote National Issues Forums in the Classroom.

ON-LINE SUPPORT MODULES

Testing of on-line support modules developed by Ed Florey is underway. When ready these modules will support Coaching Community Innovation Workshops. The modules are used to teach people about the deliberative process and the uses for it in their communities.

NETWORK BUILDING

The following items are projects we are working on to expand our network of working relationships and contacts across the state and nation.
