DMC Welcomes Civic Fellow Lauren Lockhart

The DMC is happy to welcome Lauren Lockhart to our team! Lauren will serve as a McKenzie Civic Fellow at the DMC for 2022-23. During her service year, Lauren will assist in the DMC’s civic education programming for students, educators, schools, and communities. Additionally, she will assist the Center in a variety of roles, including helping plan and run this year’s Civic Institute!

Lauren grew up in Bethlehem, Georgia, and recently graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration with a minor in Peace, Justice, and Ecology. During her time at UAB, she had the opportunity to expand her education and take classes in the Master of Public Administration department, combining her research background with a passion for the nonprofit sector. Working with the Mathews Center allows her to continue this desire to assist others while learning skills in a real-world environment that she can use in her future endeavors.

Welcome to the team, Lauren! We’re excited for a wonderful year of service at the Mathews Center. If you’d like to get in touch with Lauren or send her a note of welcome, you can email her at llockhart@mathewscenter.org.
